Pre-Workout Nutrition

Typically, in the mornings I workout on an empty stomach in order to take advantage of my depleted carbohydrate level. Usually, I am able to push through my workouts even though I may feel a little weak. However, this past Saturday I realized that trying to make it through a two hour boxing class on an empty stomach is not such a good idea. I have found that a piece of fruit and a protein source (shake, cottage cheese, etc.) usually helps my workouts, whether it be weights, cardio or boxing. On a completely different subject - thanks to Trent, I have been privy to the world of Gunther (warning - this site is a little racy and disturbing) which is one of the funniest websites I have seen. I was able to do some studying, but it is tough when they are running the Rocky series non stop on AMC.

Paul,

You have always prepared well for workouts with the sleezy bar (Tampa) at night and cottage cheese in the morning...
Gimme your damn phone number or email address.

Roger,

You are from Sweden, how big a fan are you of Gunther?

This blog is hot garbage. Paul, you look like you have been hit by a hot sack of nickels. 20% bodyfat?! What have they been feeding you in Austin? BBQ scrapple?

In all seriousness, you seem like you are working your tail off and will undoubtedly hit the ring with great success. Keep up the great work.

By the way, what are you studying?

Dear Timmy,

I am studying to take the BAR at the end of the month, as you know it is most enjoyable. Scrapple is delicious, but I have not gotten my hands on any lately. I really do miss the eight piece chicken meals from Hardees/Roy Rogers - wasn't it like $4? Also, I have refrained from drinking any Hott Stuff concoctions and my stomach thanks me for that.
